Accordingto“NationalAssociationforbilingualEducationWebsite”,bilingualeducationrefersto“approachesintheclassroomthatusethenativelanguagesof[second/Foreignlanguage]learnersforinstruction”.Itshouldbeenrichmentnotonlyinculturebutalsoinlanguageskill.However,today,thereisanunquestionabledebateinregardtobilingualeducation.Forthosewhoadvocatebilingualeducationholdthatbilingualeducationisagoodwaytobroadenlearners’mindsandwellpreparethemforthefierceglobalpetition,whileothersviewbilingualeducationasaprobleminthatlearnersmayeasilymixonelanguagewithanotherandtendtolosetheirlanguageabilities.
What’sthebilingualsituationinChinaWiththeimplementationofopeningpolicyandthetendencyofglobalization,ChinesegovernmenthadpassedseverallawstodeemphasizetheimportanceofRussianandincreasethepercentageofEnglisheducationinordertointroducethemostadvancedtechnologyandmanagementexpertisefromtheabroad.Meanwhile,Englishhasbeemoreandmoreimportantasatoolattheinternationalstagewithrespecttoeconomy,politics,cultureandeducation.SinceBeijingandShanghaiwonthebidfor2008OlympicGamesand2010WorldExpos
