关世杰
自1984年留北大任教,1991年以来至今一直从事跨文化交流的教学与科研.从学校开设全校通选课以来,一直从事"跨文化交流学"的教学.1995年出版的《跨文化交流学》1996年获得北京市第二届哲学社会科学优秀成果二等奖.2016年被评为该年度北京大学十佳教师.

北京大学和德国汉堡大学跨文化传播学专业学习,德国汉堡大学获博士学位.研究重点为跨文化传播学理论,案例分析和内容分析法.培训重点为跨文化基础知识和能力培训,以及特殊专业跨文化交流培训.曾发表有关跨文化传播学方面的理论论文和跨文化传播学的应用实践文章,在北京大学,中科院研究生院开设跨文化交流学课程,2016年曾对北京大学500名奥运志愿者举办强化跨文化交流培训,进行过逾百次中外跨文化交流培训.可用中文,英文和德文进行培训.

美国跨文化交流培训师.毕业于北京大学中文系,并获得美国俄勒冈州波特兰州立大学成人教育硕士学位.曾在摩托罗拉大学(北京),美国伯立兹环球语言中心和波特兰州立大学担任中文和跨文化的教学与培训.目前与美国跨文化交流学院和KOZAI公司合作,开展跨文化研究与培训,并担任北京大学新闻与传播学院的跨文化交流与管理研究中心美方顾问,共同研发跨文化夏季学院项目.

Everycultureisaself-sustainingsystemwithanintricatestructureanddazzlingmanifestations,appearingmysteriousandinprehensibletooutsiders.Thiswouldmakeinterculturalmunicationdifficultandleadtointerculturalmisunderstanding,causinginterculturalconflictsamongindividualsandevenhostilityandwarsbetweennations.Topromoteinterculturalcooperationandinternationalharmony,themosteffectivewayistoenhanceinterculturalunderstandingandconsensus.Forthispurpose,itisofprimaryimportancetoprobethecorevaluesorthefoundationofaculture,whichisalsoaneffectiveandfundamentalwaytoincreaseone'sinterculturalpetence.ThiscourseisintendedtohelpyoutoprehendthecoreWesternvaluesfromamulticulturalperspectiveaswellasthemyriaduniquemanifestationsofWesternpolitics,business,education,mediaanddailysociallife,andtoreflectonthecoreChinesevalues,soastoupgradeyourinterculturalpetenceinconductingeffectivemunicationanddealingwithconflictsbetweenChineseandWesterncultures.Inparticular,youwilllearnto:1)interpretWesternclassicsthatformulatedthecoreWesternvalues,2)evaluatecoreWesternvaluesfromamulticulturalperspective,3)explainviathecoreWesternvaluesthepastandpresentofWesterncultureaswellasthemisunderstandingsandconflictsbetweenChineseandWesterncultures,and4)improveonthebasisofinterculturalunderstandingthemunicationandcooperationbetweenthetwocultures.YouwillalsobeabletoenhanceyourEnglishlanguagepetenceasaresultofintensivetraininginlistening,reading,speakingandwriting.Intermsofteachingmethods,thiscourseattemptstointegratelecturing,readingclassics,discussingandreflectivewriting.Englishisourworkinglanguage.

教学方式:
该课程把讲座,经典阅读,讨论与反思写作融为一体.工作语言为全英文.
学生成绩评定办法:
1,课堂参与(20%):课前课后阅读教师指定的有关资料,上课积极提问并参与讨论.
2,课程小论文(60%):基于阅读和反思,独立完成3篇千字小论文(英文),分别在第3,4,5讲课前提交.
3,期末开卷考试(20%):4道简答题,考察对课程内容的理解和反思.
