Aftersheandonefriendwanderedaboutformorethanoneyear,shefinallyrealizedthatshewantedtochange:"IcouldsubmittoeverythingthatwashappeninginlivinglifeofexcusesorIcouldpushmyself.Icouldpushmyselfandmakemylifegood."Withthedetermination,shebeganattendingtheHumanitiesPreparatoryAcademy.Thoughshestartedwithanacademiclevelthatwasonlyequaltoastudentateighthgrade,shemanagedtofinishtheprescribed4-yearhighschoolcurriculumwithinonlytwoyears.Andbecauseofherextremeexcellenceamongallstudents,shewasawardedtheNewYorkTimesFirst-classScholarshipandadmittedintoHarvardUniversity.
