Firstly,thepapersummarizedthetheoryofourpredecessors,analysisofgroundsettlementresultingmechanism,thefactorsandthegenerallawofgroundsettlement.Secondly,inthebackgroundoftheshieldtunnelingfromGaozengStationtoNewAirportStationinGuangzhouMetro,thepaperanalysiedtheshieldtunnelboringandthegroundsettlementbytunnelingwithfiniteelementsoftwareMIDAS/GTS,thencomparedwithnumericalsimulationresultsandmonitoringdata.Thirdly,stillwithfiniteelementsoftwareMIDAS/GTS,thispaperfocusedonstudyingonhowthefactorsincludinguppercasing,tailshieldgrouting,tunnelingpressureandtwo-lanetunnel'sconstructionprogramaffectgroundsettlement.Finally,thispaperputforwardreasonablepracticalmeasuresonhowtocontrolgroundsettlement.

Therearesomeconclusionsfromthestudyinthispaper:
(1)ResultsfromfiniteelementsoftwareMIDAS/GTSandprojectmonitoringdataarebasicallyconsistent,itverifiedthereliabilityofnumericalsimulationresultsbyMIDAS/GTS.
(2)Thickertopcasingmakeslittergroundsettlementwiththeformationdepthincreases,thehorizontalstratamaximumsettlementamountisevengreater.
(3)Whensimulatingthetailshieldgroutingwithequivalentcirclezone,itfoundthatthematerialparametersofequivalentcirclezoneaffectlittleongroundsettlement,whilethematerialthicknessofequivalentcirclezoneaffectongroundsettlementobviously.
(4)TheDrivingpressureimpactedontheverticalgroundsettlementgreatly,itshouldbecontrolledwhenconstructing.
(5)Indoublelinetunnelconstructing,thereislittledifferenceaboutgroundsettlementwheterthetwolineconstructedatthesametimeandthesamedirectionoronefirstthenanother.whileandtheexcavationandthecompletionofatunnelthenturnaroundtheotherone.But,whenusingthelattermethods,becauseofthesubsidencesuperimposition,thegroundsettlementofthetwocentersoftwolinesisnotequal,thesettlementtanksareunsymmetrical.
