Withthedevelopmentofthetimes,tourismindustryisflourishing.Thereisavarietyofguidebooks,whosetranslation,toacertaindegree,influencesthegrowthoflocaltourism.ThistranslationreportisbasedontheChinese-EnglishtranslationofHangzhouTravelGuild(2013)。Thetranslatorhastranslatedapartofthebookandthenfinishedthereportinthehopeofofferingpracticalguidanceforsomedepartmentsrelevantwithtourismandpromotingthedevelopmentoftourism.
Duringthetranslationpractice,becauseofthebigdifferencesbetweenChineseandEnglishcultureandlanguage,thetranslatorcameacrossthefollowingdifficulties:
(1)thetranslationofculture-loadedwords;(2)thetranslationoflongsentences.UndertheguidanceofSkoposTheory,thetranslatorconsideredthatthetranslationoftravelguideshouldfocusonthetargettextreadersandthetranslatedversionshouldbeinaccordancewiththewritingfeaturesofthetargettextandcatertothetargetreaders.
Combinedwithdetailedexamples,thetranslatorputforwardthefollowingstrategies:(1)addition,omissionandcompression;(2)integratingandsplittingsentences.Thisreportproposedthecorrespondingspecificstrategies,whichcanoffersomereferentialvaluetothetranslatorstotranslatethetourismtexts.
